Blackburn set to offer Keane Spurs exit route

Blackburn Rovers are set to offer unsettled striker Robbie Keane an exit route out of White Hart Lane this summer. Keane is one of the transfer targets earmarked by Rovers’ Indian owners as they aim to rebuild a team that flirted dangerously with relegation last season before managing to stay up by the skin of their teeth.

Keane is one of Spurs’ highest paid players and is one of the several players Harry Redknapp wants to offload this summer in order to bring in funds for new targets. He has found first team football hard to come by at the Lane and has been farmed out on loan to both Celtic and West Ham.

Apart from Keane, Rovers are also planning to buy Freiburg striker Papiss Cisse, Almeria winger Pablo Piatti and Zenit St Petersburg defender Alexander Anyukov. Blackburn have had a relatively quite transfer window so far with the controversial sale of Phil Jones to Man Utd the only major news concerning the Lancashire club.
