The agent of Napoli forward Ezequiel Lavezzi, dubbed by many as the “Next Maradona” has revealed that a bid from his client from Liverpool has been rejected.

Eduardo Rossetto told Gazzetta that a bid in excess of €20m (rumoured to be around €22m) for Lavezzi was rejected by the Partenopei. He added that the bid did not match Aurelio De Laurentiis’ valuation of the player.

Despite the bid being rejected, Rossetto has indicated that Lavezzi may leave Stadio San Paolo if a club comes in with an improved transfer fee, especially if the Argentine is offered thrice his current wages, as Liverpool have reportedly done.
