Bundesliga Team of the Week Round 32- It’s the Bayer Leverkusen show!

With Leverkusen’s stunning 6:1 demolition of Europa League semi-finalists Eintracht Frankfurt over the weekend, it perhaps comes as no surprise that Bayer 04 dominate this weekend’s Bundesliga Team of the Week. The result saw Leverkusen go level on points with Frankfurt, and stay in the hunt for that final Champions League spot. Frankfurt can still qualify for the CL by winning the Europa League, but that’s a tall order, with Arsenal also potentially wanting to do the same.

Kai Havertz, Julian Brandt and Lucas Alario were all on target for Bayer 04 in that 6:1 win, and they all find themselves mentioned in the TOTW across various media outlets.

Bayern look to bounce back this weekend against Hannover

After last weekend’s disappointing draw against Nuremberg, Bayern will aim to pull up their socks and return to winning ways when they take on strugglers Hannover at the Allianz Arena.

It was more disappointing given that they were fully aware of Dortmund’s setback against Schalke, and so bad were the Bavarians that they didn’t have a single player in Week 31’s Team of the Round- a rarity.

Nuremberg vs Bayern Munich Player Ratings- Gnabry saves Kovac’s blushes

Bayern had won their last 17 away games at promoted sides, but were held to a 1:1 draw by struggling Nuremberg on Sunday afternoon. The Bavarians knew fully well that they could go 4 points clear of BVB (who had lost to Schalke on Saturday), but more questions will be asked about Niko Kovac after they just about managed a point. Gnabry, who came off the bench to score an equaliser, saved Kovac’s blushes and is the highest rated Bayern player according to these ratings.
