A late Joshua Kimmich goal helped Bayern Munich come away with a 2:1 win from Moscow against Lokomotiv. The fixture, played at the RDS Arena, was one of the few UCL fixtures to have in-person attendance, with 8.196 fans present in the Russian capital.

Bayern warmed up for their crunch Champions League tie against Atleti by beating Arminia Bielefeld 4:1 on the road. Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski the stars of the evening for Bayern, as shown by these player ratings. Not so much for Corentin Tolisso though, with the French medio needlessly getting sent off towards the end of the game.

Bundesliga Team of the Week- BVB and Bayern make strong starts

The new Bundesliga season’s first week is complete, and all the three major contenders for the title- Bayern, Dortmund and Leipzig, got off to winning starts.

Bayern thrashed Schalke 8:0 while BVB registered an important 3:0 win at home over Borussia Monchengladbach. Leipzig were also comfortable 3:1 winners against Mainz.
