Burnley sign GKN on loan from Spurs

Burnley have moved to strengthen their attack with the signing of Georges-Kevin Nkoudou on loan from Tottenham Hotspur till the end of the season. The 22 year old was bought by Spurs from Marseille in the summer of 2016, but his career hasn’t quite taken off with the Lilywhites the way he would have imagined (only 23 appearances over one and a half years and not a single PL start), and will be hoping that the high flying Clarets can breathe new life into his English stint.

Burnley have the surprises packages of the 2017/18 Premier League season with Sean Dyche working wonders at Turf Moor. They’re currently seventh in the table, just behind the “Big Six”

Nkoudou remarked that Spurs teammate Kieran Trippier had a big hand in him moving to Turf Moor. Trippier spent four seasons at Burnley before joining Spurs in 2015.

Nkoudou could make his debut for Burnley as early as this weekend, when they travel to Crystal Palace.

Both Burnley and French outfit Saint-Etienne were interested in signing him on a permanent basis, but Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino isn’t quite ready to jettison the experiment yet, and feels the France U21 international could definitely be part of his future plans at the Lane.
