Reports in De Telegraaf have stated that Ryan Babel is set for a move to the Middle East by signing with UAE club Al-Ain. There were strong rumours about Babel linking up former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard at LA Galaxy, but it now looks like the 28 year old is set for a move east, rather than crossing the Atlantic to America.

Somewhat weird move career wise, given that Babel is only 28, and still has chances of adding to the 43 caps he gained for the Netherlands. He’s currently with Kasimpasa in Turkey, having joined them after small stints with Hoffenheim and Ajax following his departure from Liverpool.
