John W Henry:- Liverpool must finish in top four

Liverpool owner John W.Henry has said that it would be a “massive disappointment” if the Reds failed to finish in the top four in the forthcoming 11/12 season. Henry, who was in Oslo to watch Liverpool take on Norwegian outfit Valerenga, added that he considered Manchester United as favourites for the title and wanted Liverpool to finish in the top four.

Liverpool’s pre-season has been disappointing, with their defence leaking three goals in every fixture. They drew 3-3 against Valerenga on Monday evening, with a last gasp Mohammed Fellah strike giving the Norwegians a point after the Reds were trailing 2-0 in the first twenty minutes of the game.

New manager Kenny Dalglish has strengthened his squad with the big name acquisitions of Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam, Doni and Stewart Downing, spending over £40m this summer.
