Bayern won the game 2:1 at the MHP Arena thanks to goals from Harry Kane and new summer signing Luis Diaz, thus picking up their 11th Super Cup title in the process.

German / Bundesliga player nominees for Ballon d’Or 2025

Here is the list of Bundesliga player nominees for the 2025 Ballon D’Or.

The German Bundesliga has four nominees in the 30 member shortlist for the 2025 Ballon D’Or. They are

Harry Kane (Bayern Munich)
Michael Olise (Bayern Munich)
Serhou Guirassy (Borussia Dortmund)
Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen; now Liverpool FC)

So there is only one German player nominated for the 2025 Men’s Ballon D’Or, and that is Florian Wirtz. The other three Bundesliga nominees are Kane (England), Olise (France) and Guirassy (Guinea).

Here is how FC Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund fared at the recent Club World Cup 2025 in the United States. With a limit of two clubs per association, Bayern and BVB were the Bundesliga’s representatives at the FIFA CWC, and both teams were eliminated in the quarterfinals by PSG and Real Madrid respectively.

Group C Club World Cup 2025

Bayern started with a 10:0 hammering of Auckland City and followed it up with a 2:1 win over Boca Juniors, but a surprise last day defeat against Benfica saw them finish second in the group and put them on the tougher side of the draw.
