FIFA June 2019 Rankings- Germany rise two spots to 11th

Germany’s twin European qualifying victories have lifted them to 11th place in the latest FIFA rankings- an improvement of two places. The Germans beat Belarus 2:0 away from home and followed it up with a 8:0 triumph against Estonia in Mainz.

With 1582 points, Die Mannschaft are level on points with Argentina and just seven behind Denmark, who currently occupy 10th place.

Is Peter Gulacsi the Bundesliga’s best keeper?

Is Leipzig’s Hungarian goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi the Bundesliga’s best goalkeeper? His peers certainly seem to think so- an anonymous survey conducted of 250 Bundesliga players by a German newspaper saw the 29 year old being rated as the best keeper in the league for the 2018/19 season.

Behind Gulacsi were the trio of Roman Burki (Dortmund), Jiri Pavlenka (Werder Bremen) and Gladbach’s Yann Sommer. Manuel Neuer didn’t feature in the top eight names as seen in the list below.

Gulacsi’s Leipzig had the best defensive record in the Bundesliga for 18/19, letting in only 29 goals throughout the season. They finished third in the table behind Bayern and BVB.
