With a limit of two clubs per association, Bayern and BVB were the Bundesliga’s representatives at the FIFA CWC, and both teams were eliminated in the quarterfinals by PSG and Real Madrid respectively.

Bayern beat Flamengo 4:2 in the Round of 16 in one of the games of the tournament, but lost 2:0 to Paris SG in the quarterfinals, with the game overshadowed by Jamal Musiala’s injury.
