Robbie Keane- La Galaxy linked with move for Irish striker

Los Angeles Galaxy have been linked with a sensational move for Irish striker Robbie Keane. Keane, the current captain of the Irish national football team, is surplus to requirements at Tottenham Hotspur and has recently had loan spells with both Celtic and West Ham in order to have regular playing time under his belt.

Matthew Upson- Stoke City swoop for Hammers defender

Stoke City have completed the signing of Matthew Upson from West Ham United on a free transfer. The 32 year old was a free agent following the expiry of his contract this summer and the Potters have moved quickly to snap him up, just weeks after they picked up Jonathan Woodgate on a similar deal from Tottenham Hotspur. Dean Henderson:- Manchester United swoop for 14 year old Carlisle goalkeeper

Manchester United have completed the signing of teenage Carlisle United goalkeeper Dean Henderson. The 14 year old, who was at the Cumbrian club’s Centre of Excellence, has been tipped as one for the future and United scouts have been sufficiently impressed by the youngster’s talent to persuade Sir Alex Ferguson to thrash out a compensation package for the teen with Carlisle. The deal was agreed on Friday and Henderson has now joined the Red Devils on a two year contract.

Carlisle’s head of youth Eric Kinder said that Henderson was one of the best young goalkeepers he had worked with and added that United had landed a real gem in the youngster.

United are not the only club to have shown interest in Henderson, with Chelsea and Newcastle also keeping tabs on the youngster’s progress.

Henderson will join the famed Manchester United academy, which is currently headed by Brian McClair.
