Manchester United defender Chris Smalling has signed a new five year contract with Manchester United. Smalling joined the Red Devils from Fulham last summer and acquitted himself well enough at Old Trafford to make over 30 appearances last season.

Swansea City midfielder Andrea Orlandi has penned a contract extension that will keep him with the Welsh outfit till the end of the 2012/2013 season. Orlandi’s original contract with the Swans was due to expire at the end of the 2011/12 season but he has now agreed to sign for an additional year.

Orlandi follows in the footsteps of Angel Ranger, who recently signed a new three year contract with the club. Swansea, who got promoted to the Premier League following their victory over Reading in the playoff final, are also expected to seal up contract negotiations with Nathan Dyer and Joe Allen soon.
