Young keeper Marek Stech is in line to make his first West Ham start in tonight’s pre-season friendly with Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium.
Alan Curbishley has decided to hand the 18-year-old Czech Republic youth international the chance to impress against the Championship outfit.
Number one Robert Green is left on the bench.
Irons boss Curbishley has made just two other changes to the side which started Tuesday night’s encounter with Peterborough United.
Hayden Mullins has replaced Mark Noble in midfield, while Callum Davenport - who had a loan spell at Southampton while at Spurs two seasons ago - comes in for Anton Ferdinand in defence.
New £5million signing Valon Behrami starts again at right-back, with skipper Lucas Neill occupying the left-hand side.
Academy youngsters Jack Collison, Joe Widdowson, Zavon Hines, Jordan Spence, Tony Stokes and Junior Stanislas are all on the bench.
