West Ham Accepts Black Cats Bid For Ferdinand

Anton Ferdinand is on the verge of a move to Sunderland after West Ham accepted a bid for the defender.

Black Cats boss Roy Keane has been linked with the 23-year-old for the past few weeks.

And it finally appears that a fee - believed to be in the region of £8million - has been agreed with the Hammers board.

Now it is up to Ferdinand to agree a contract with the Wearsiders.

“The board have accepted the bid,” Irons boss Alan Curbishley told the BBC.

“Anton has not renegotiated his contract, and the decision was taken out of my hands.

“I don’t know where Anton is in terms of signing for Sunderland but once the club accept the bid, it moves on.”

If Ferdinand does agree to the move, then he would join the likes of El-Hadji Diouf, Pascal Chimbonda, Teemu Tainio, Steed Malbranque, Djibril Cisse and David Healy to have already joined the big spending Stadium of Light outfit this summer.
