Wenger MAY Make £6m Bid To Bring Juventus Striker To Arsenal

Arsene Wenger’s efforts to secure the best youngsters in European football could see him make a £6million bid Juventus attacking midfielder Sebastian Giovinco.

The 21-year-old, currently representing Italy at the Olympics, spent last season on loan at Empoli and enjoyed a successful season in which he scored six goals in 35 appearances.

Giovinco has emerged through the Turin club’s youth academy but despite the talent that has seen him play for his country at all junior levels, has only played three first team games for the Old Lady.

With his agent now in dispute with the club over a new contract, the creative player could be headed for pastures new with his big break just around the corner.

“Our requests are purely linked to the objective value of the player,” said agent Claudio Pasqualin in Tuttosport.

“I always remind him how grateful he should be that destiny saw him grow up in the Juve youth system. The club should keep a tight grip on him.”

Juventus manager Cladio Ranieri is desperate to keep hold of the player and heaped praise upon the player by making comparisons with another Turin great.

“He is a player who gives his best in the final third,” said Ranieri.

“But at Empoli I saw he was also used with success as a wide left midfielder. When he returns we will discuss it and see what he can do.

“I think he could easily be the alternative to Pavel Nedved, albeit with different responsibilities and characteristics.”

Arsenal are keen to recruit a new midfielder this season and have also been linked with another Serie A youngster in Udinese player Goklan Inler.
