Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has said that the club are very close to formally completing the acquisition of young goalkeeper David de Gea from Spanish club Atletico Madrid. De Gea, 20, is reported to have cost Manchester United around £17m, thus making him the second most expensive goalkeeper in the world after legendary Italian stopper Gianluigi Buffon.
