Spurs Take A Look At Sweden Keeper

Tottenham have made an approach for Elfsborg keeper Johan Wiland, according to the player’s agent.
Juande Ramos has overseen a complete overhaul of the goalkeeping department, having sold Paul Robinson and Radek Cerny to Blackburn and QPR respectively, while he has brought in PSV keeper Heurelho Gomes.
And it looks as if the Spaniard is still in the market for an understudy, with Wiland said to be the favourite.
The 27-year-old is ranked as Sweden’s number three, behind Andreas Isaksson and former Arsenal keeper Rami Shaaban, and according to agent Johan Svensson, Spurs have made an enquiry about the player.
“They called and enquired. They asked about Johan’s situation at Elfsborg,” he said.
Furthermore, Wiland admitted that he was ‘flattered’ with the interest shown in him and conceded that a future move could be on the cards.
“It’s truly fun that they get in touch - it’s flattering,” he told Boras Tidning.
“I have got a long-term contract with Elfsborg and I am not in a hurry to leave. If something serious happens, I will get to know that.”
