Spurs Set For £9m Move For Brazilian Striker

Tottenham are preparing a £9million bid for Fluminese attacker Thiago Neves, according to reports in Italy.

Sport Italia understands that boss Juande Ramos is keen on the 23-year-old, who is thought to be seeking a move to Europe to further his career.

Ramos is desperate to strengthen his midfield after agreeing to sell Teemu Tainio to Sunderland, while winger Steed Malbranque looks likely to follow his former team-mate to the Stadium of Light.

And Neves looks to fit the bill, as he has an impressive scoring record of 30 goals in just 82 appearances for the Brazilian outfit.

Italian side Palermo are also known to be interested in the player, and a bid in the region of £9million is thought to be enough to prise the Brazilian from his homeland.
