Tottenham are reportedly eyeing former Liverpool and Newcastle boss Graeme Souness as a potential successor to Juande Ramos.

The Spaniard is thought to have been given six games to save his job after a disastrous start to the season which sees them propping up the Premier League, and according to the Sunday Mirror, Souness is being lined up to replace him.

It is believed that the Spurs board are considering changing their continental approach to management and will instead stick to candidates with experience in English football.

Souness’ last job in football was at St James’ Park, which he left in 2006, and despite rumours that he would take over at Crystal Palace, he has since appeared as a television pundit on Sky Sports.
