Real Madrid, Barca battle it out for Kaka

Barcelona and Real Madrid will both make offers for AC Milan ace Kaka at the end of this season.
La Repubblica says Kaka’s performance against Manchester United convinced Barca’s board to compete with Real for the Brazilian. Joan Laporta, the Barca president, knows that Ronaldinho’s brother and agent, Roberto de Assis, is maintaining contact with AC Milan and sees Kaka as the man to replace him.
Laporta also knows he has an advantage on Real as he can demand Kaka in a deal for Ronaldinho, so thwarting their great rivals. It’s also suggested Laporta would be prepared to include Samuel Eto’o in the mega deal.
For Real, they already have an offer on the table for Kaka - which has been approved by Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani. Fabio Cannavaro, Robinho and Mahamadou Diarra would go in exchange for Kaka, which was the deal discussed in January as Galliani finalised Ronaldo’s signing.
