Reports have claimed that the togonese international has pledge his immediate future to Arsenal. He's finally decided that there's no-one in pursuit of him so he decides to stay.
The Times reports that Adebayor says, "Now I can tell everyone that, yes, I will sign a contract. I'm feeling very good here, very well here, and at the moment my heart is with Arsenal," he said.
"I never told anyone I would be leaving this club, never ever. I'm very happy we've found a solution. I have three years left on my contract so I'm very happy being part of this family."
Now this sounds like an incredible U-turn from someone who allegedly held Arsenal at ransom on an increased offer for almost double the money he's supposedly settled for. Now everyone is open to their opinion but you can't help but feel that Ade has been sel-fish and will eventually leave next season if the right club bid for him. I understand the comments in the article recently posted on Arsenal Truth which state that Adebayor is human and if we'd been offered double our money by any other firm we'd bend backwards to leave. So it is understandable that if someone offers an improved salary then by all means leave, but if now he is rueing his stay then would you keep him?
If his heart ain't at the club he might not perform at his best and therefore become a liability outfield. Somewhat like Henry, (The great incredible player that he is), it seemed like his performances in his last season for Arsenal lacked enthusiasm and energy.
Do you feel he deserves an increased salary? Is he an asset to the Arsenal set-up? Do you feel he will produce the goods again this season? And most importantly can he be the key to success?
