Arsenal boss Arsène Wenger is undecided whether to throw new recruit Mikael Silvestre straight into action for the trip to Fulham on Saturday.

The 31-year-old completed a shock move from Manchester United yesterday, although is unsure if the French defender is fit enough to make the Craven Cottage clash.

Wenger, will however draft Alex Song straight back into his squad, after the versatile Cameroon international returned from competing at the Olympics with his country.

"I am not sure about Silvestre as he has a little muscular problem, but Song is [in the squad]," Wenger told the club's official website.

Winger Samir Nasri, who scored on his Premier League debut against west brom last week is also expected to feature despite missing the French victory over Sweden in midweek.

And Wenger was also pleased to see Cesc Fabregas return to training this week.

He added: "Well Cesc is doing very well in training.

“He won't be ready for Saturday but has a chance to be ok for Wednesday. We don't want to gamble on him for one gamble, we have to be patient.

"[Abou] Diaby doesn't look too far away and hopefully there will be good news on [Tomas] Rosicky in the next two weeks."

As well as that trio Philippe Senderos (hamstring), Amaury Bischoff (groin) and Eduardo (leg) are all still missing as well.
