Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce admits he may be forced to cash in on stars Luis Antonio Valencia and Wilson Palacios.

The Sun says the midfield duo remain on Manchester United's radar and Bruce said: "I don't want to lose players of their calibre but I'm a realist.

"If the big clubs wave their cheque books it'll be hard to send them away.

"And it will have to be the big clubs because of the money we'd want."

Valencia, 22, is valued at £10million - twice the £5m Wigan paid Spain's Villarreal in loan fees and transfer payments.

Palacios, 23, was a £1m bargain from Honduran side Olimpio and the Latics would command at least £5m to sell him on.
