Portugal coach, Luiz Felipe Scolari has refused to rule himself out of the running for the vacant Chelsea job.

With the Blues admitting that they will use their next managerial appointment to increase their popularity amongst English football fans, it seems a touch bizarre that - after they missed the boat on the popular Mark Hughes - many of their proposed targets have, for want of a better word, 'shafted' English football fans in some way.

And the new 'number one' target, Portugal's Brazilian coach Scolari, is well-known to England fans. His actually quite negative side have dumped England out of their last two international tournaments at the quarter finals, on penalties, despite arguably being outplayed by their adversaries.

Following that, angry Gene Hackman look-a-like Scolari publicly snubbed England (and its media) in 2006 in a move which allowed Steve McClaren to take the reins and turn them into the laughing stock of international football.

Anyway, 'Big Phil' - who was once banned for fist-fighting with Serbia players during an international match and makes Fergie look like Roy Hodgson - neither confirmed nor denied reports he is set for Chelsea after the Euros.

"What is going to happen to me after the Euros? If I'm going to stay or go, it [only] concerns me," he said ahead of Portugal's opener against Turkey.

"It's a situation that I will examine closely."

Following Sir Alex Ferguson's verbal assaults on the "immoral" Real Madrid's pursuit of Cristiano Ronaldo, Arsene Wenger became the next Premier League coach to vent his righteous fury at serial courtiers Milan for their attempts to sign Emmanuel Adebayor.

Milan's shy and retiring vice-president Adriano Galliani named the Togo striker as one of his top targets for the summer.

And, after Milan secured the free transfer signing of former Gunners midfielder Mathieu Flamini, Wenger is furious at what he perceives as deliberate attempts to unsettle his players.

"Adebayor is firmly under contract to Arsenal," the Frenchman said. "If Milan are interested in him, then they can pick up the phone and call me.

"They will get the answer they deserve."

Milan are also looking to raid Arsenal's bitter rivals Tottenham.

The Guardian claim that Dimitar Berbatov is on the Rossoneri's wide-reaching radar, with Manchester United switching their attentions to Roque Santa Cruz of Blackburn.

Everton, meanwhile, are preparing a £7 million bid for Spurs midfielder Tom Huddlestone, according to the Express.

The former Derby man has seen his stock rise since Juande Ramos forced him to shed his spare tyre and he has even been called-up by disciplinarian England boss Fabio Capello.

Everton are short after losing Lee Carsley to Birmingham and the much-younger Huddlestone could be the perfect solution in the long-term.

Spurs could replace Huddlestone with Michael Johnson, it was also suggested by the Guardian.

Rumours about the Manchester City midfielder's fondness for a night out and alleged wage demands have not pleased no-nonsense new boss Hughes and White Hart Lane and Anfield have been mooted as potential destinations.

He would cost around £12 million, and City would look to hijack Aston Villa's move for Chelsea's out-of-favour midfielder Steve Sidwell as a replacement.

Sunderland have been linked with Sheffield United's Ireland midfielder Stephen Quinn (The Sun) while Dean Whitehead could be set for a £3 million move to Stoke (Mirror), and Everton are chasing young Bristol City defender Christian Ribeiro (Mirror).
