Tottenham will move for Sporting Lisbon forward Simon Vukcevic in the Januray transfer window, according to reports.

The Daily Mirror claims that the Monenegro attacker will tell the Portuguese club that he wants to leave after falling out with coach Paulo Bento, opening the door for Juande Ramos to make his move.

The Spaniard is short of attacking options following the summer departures of Dimitar Berbatov to Manchester United and Robbie Keane to Liverpool. Russian Roman Pavlyuchenko has been brought in, while United rookie Frazier Campbell has also been drafted in but Spurs are lacking a prolific scorer.

22-year-old Vukcevic has scored seven goals in 19 appearances for Sporting and is one of his country's hottest prospects.

Tottenham are likely to face stiff competition for his signature from Bolton, who failed in their attempt to buy the player in the summer.

"I've already decided I'll leave in December," Vukcevic told the Mirror. "This is a very difficult situation for me and I'm going to ask the club if I can leave in the winter.

"I know English clubs were interested in me during the summer but nothing happened. My agent will have to act now."
