Spurs midfielder Luka Modric has revealed the club's fans have yet to see the best of him because he has been hampered by a knee injury.

The Croatia international has yet to find top form since his £16.6million move from Dinamo Zagreb, but the diminutive playmaker has vowed to show supporters what he is capable of.

Luka is aware the situation is not good.

"I am not satisfied with my performances at Tottenham. I have to do better and I can do better," said Modric.

"The problem has been a knee problem - it's been causing me pain."

Meanwhile, Modric's international coach Slaven Bilic has voiced his concerns about the state of affairs at White Hart Lane and has admitted that he expects more from the club's two Croatian stars.

"I am worried about the results at Tottenham, where some of our key players are playing - defender Vedran Corluka and in particular Luka Modric," he said.

"Luka is aware the situation is not good. He is aware that more is expected of him and that he has to lead the others.

"One of the things we must do at team headquarters is help set him on the right road."
