Pascal Chimbonda has finally completed his move to Sunderland, writes Craig Rodhouse.

Black Cats boss Roy Keane confirmed a few weeks ago that he had made a bid for Chimbonda, along with Tottenham team mates Teemu Tainio, Younes Kaboul and Steed Malbranque. And Keane has now completed the second signing of the quartet after Tainio joined the Stadium of Light outfit earlier in the week.

Cimbonda, 29, has signed for an undisclosed fee and agreed a three-year deal with the Black Cats. And Keane seemed delighted with the signing.

He said: "Pascal is one of those rare players who can play anywhere across the back line and that will be invaluable to us, so naturally we`re very pleased to secure his services."

"He has a lot of Premier League experience which can only be a plus for us and he`ll give us more options at the back, creating more competition for places there, so all-in-all it`s a fantastic signing for us."

However, Keane looks unlikely to sign Kaboul and Malbranque, with former reportedly on the verge of a move to Portsmouth or Aston Villa and the latter not fancying a move to the club.
