Tottenham could miss out on Ajax striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar as Roma and Real Madrid are also in the hunt for the prolific Dutchman.

Transfer agent Alberto Faccini claims he has held discussions with Roma director Daniele Prade about a possible transfer, although he also confirmed that Spanish champions Madrid are also keeping tabs on the situation.

"I spoke to Roma sporting director Daniele Pradè and he asked me for information on Huntelaar," Faccini told Power Station.

"There hasn’t been an offer or any concrete request from Roma for the player, but I'm sure Huntelaar will weigh up the offers during the winter.

"He could move in January, but at the moment Ajax are taking some time to consider their options.

"However, we must remember that it wouldn't be an easy transfer, not least because Real Madrid are still interested in him."

The news will come as a blow to Spurs as Juande Ramos is still in the market for a main striker to lead the line following the high-profile departures of Dimtar Berbatov and Robbie Keane over the summer.
