Andrei Arshavin's agent has attacked his client's club Zenit St Petersburg for pricing him out of a dream move to Tottenham.
Spurs have been linked with the Russian international throughout the summer but Zenit are reportedly asking for £21 million for the 27-year-old attacker.
The Lilywhites are believed to have offered £12.5 million and Arshavin's representatives are furious, as he was allegedly told he could leave if a bid of between £9.5million and £12 million was tabled.
Dennis Lachter, Arshavin's agent, said: "The player is very disappointed and I am very frustrated. He would have come to Tottenham but he is being treated like a slave.
"I had a conversation with (Spurs chairman Daniel) Levy and it was very embarrassing. He is frustrated."
Arshavin has earned rave reviews since his impressive performances for his country during Euro 2008, and as a result has attracted the attention of a number of major European clubs. But a combination of Zenit's valuation and the player's wage demands have scared the likes of Barcelona and Arsenal off.
