Spurs assistant manager Gus Poyet has made the astonishing admission that strikers Darren Bent and Roman Pavlyuchenko cannot work in tandem.
Under-fire boss Juande Ramos was greeted with chants f ‘you don’t know what you’re doing’ on Sunday when he replaced Russian Pavlyuchenko with Bent, despite his side losing 2-0 at Portsmouth at the time.
And things certainly don't bode well for the struggling north London club, with Poyet claiming the reason behind the decision was because the big-money pair can't play as a partnership.
He said: “Unfortunately this season, when Pavlyuchenko and Bent played together it didn’t work for us.
“They’re the same type of player and it is difficult for them to play together.
“So we made the decision to play with one striker.”

doesn’t gus poyet’s admittance mean that, juande ramos was not behind or had no hand in the signing of roman pavlyuchenko?why would daniel comolli not discuss with the manager as to which players he wanted?i think we should direct our anger towards the right people (levy and comolli),and at the same time try to support the manager and the boys as they are under immense pressure.as we all saw in the pompey game, nobody wanted the ball for fear of making a mistake and facing the backlash.
