Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric has admitted that he struggled to come to terms with the horrific injury suffered by his friend and compatriot Eduardo da Silva last season.
Modric, who arrived from Dinamo Zagreb earlier this summer for £16.5million, said he struggled to focus on his game after learning of the Arsenal striker's broken leg, which he suffered after a clash with Birmingham City's Martin Taylor in February.
"I know Eduardo well and I'm sure we'll have time for socialising off the field, regardless of the fact he plays for our biggest rivals Arsenal," said Modric.
"His injury affected me a great deal. I had a match that day for Dinamo and it was very hard for me to concentrate."
