Tottenham are reportedly lining up a bid for Southampton's rising star Adam Lallana.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder is making a big name for himself on the south coast and is attracting plenty of attention from some of the Premier League's big clubs.

It was thought that the White Hart Lane side would try and steal Lallana for as little as £2million but the Saints have valuable experience in selling their hottest prospects.

They sold Theo Walcott to Arsenal for an initial fee of £5million, with future incentives taking the deal to around £12million and it is understood that they will hold out for a similar deal for Lallana.

As a teenager Lallana underwent surgery to cure an irregular heartbeat but he has risen through the ranks to become a key player for Jan Poortvliet and has recently signed a new three-year deal keeping him at St Mary's.
