Spurs defender Vedran Corluka insists sacking Juande Ramos is not the solution to resolving the current crisis engulfing White Hart Lane.
Tottenham have made their worst start to a league season in 96 years, lying bottom of the table with just two points to their name after seven games.
However, Croatia international Corluka has rejected suggestions that club chairman Daniel Levy should wield the axe and jettison Ramos. He urged the board to stand by the Spaniard as the team desperately seek their first win of the campaign against Stoke this weekend, while also recognising that he and compatriot Luka Modric need to start pulling their weight after big-money summer moves.
"Luka and I will prove ourselves under any circumstances," said Corluka in the Daily Telegraph.
"We all need to get over our start - we haven't lost self confidence.
"People always talk about replacing coaches after a few losses, but I don't think so."
Corluka also insisted the international break had come at a good time, giving the squad the chance to distance themselves from the intense spotlight that is being trained on the Lane.
"We all know the situation is not good," he said. "It's much better and more relaxing when we get together in national team because the atmosphere with Croatia is really great."
