Under-Fire boss Juande Ramos has admitted his head is on block following Tottenham's worst start to a league season in 53 years. The north Londoners remain bottom of the Premier League with just two points from their opening six league games following yesterday's 2-0 defeat at the hands of Portsmouth.

And beleaguered Spanish coach Ramos knows the pressure really is on at White Hart Lane.

He said: “My job does not depend on me. We have a board and a chairman who decide that sort of thing.

“At the moment, it is a complicated situation. Right now, things are going against us and nobody is helping us.

"For example, we lost an appeal on a penalty here and they got one in a similar incident. We went 1-0 down but could have equalised before they got their second.

“Against Wigan, too, criticial decisions did not go our way.

“I feel I have the confidence of the board. We speak regularly and we are working together to resolve matters.”
