Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna believes striker Emmanuel Adebayor is crucial to the Gunners' title challenge.
Adebayor was jeered by some sections of the Arsenal crowd during the club's two games against Juventus and Real Madrid in the Emirates Cup after reportedly demanding a massive £120,000 a week contract to stay with Gunners, or face losing him to Barcelona or AC Milan this summer.
But the Togolese forward last week put pen to paper on a new deal worth £65,000 a week and has pledged his future to Arsenal. And Sagna insists that he will win over the fans through his performances on the pitch.
"Yes he is a very good player, it is very important for the team to keep him," Sagna told setantasports.com. "I think the whole game (against Madrid) he tried to show what he can do and he is doing it quite well. Every game, game after game he showed he is a good player."
