Around 100 German hooligans were arrested Sunday after shouting Pro-Nazi comments during their match against Poland.
Several German and Polish fans clashed in Klagenfurt's fan zone outside of the stadium when Germany, and Polish born Podolski, took a 1-0 lead.
The 100 people were not all detained at once, the first group totaled nearly 60 people, and the second group was around 40.
Authorities in downtown Klagenfurt originally took on the first group after German fans started yelling things like, "All Poles have to wear a yellow star" - referring to the yellow stars that Jews were forced to wear under Nazi control.
The second group was arrested for a similar offense after yelling: "Germans protect yourselves. Don't buy anything from Poles" - referring to warnings during Nazi controlled Germany where the citizens were warned to stay way from any Jewish stores.
The Austria Press Agency said those detained would be charged with disturbing the peace and expelled from Austria.
The tension between the two teams has always been high, and you could easily see that tension boil over during the buildup for this match. This violence was in addition to the German fans that were arrested yesterday for throwing glass bottles at Polish fans.
