Kevin Keegan will be handed as much as £50million to transform the struggling Magpies in the summer, and his first target will be, of course, to tighten his notoriously poor back four.

The United boss is hoping to land Wes Brown from Manchester United on a Bosman free transfer, whilst he will offer £8million to take Wayne Bridge from Chelsea.

Another England international also wanted at St James Park is Dean Ashton, with Keegan set to offer £6million to take the powerful striker from West Ham United.
