Sir Alex Ferguson believes new signing Manucho Goncalves can become a star of the future for Manchester United.
The Angola international has agreed to join The Red Devils having successfully come through a three-week trial with the Premier League champions.
Ferguson is delighted with the 24-year-old's attributes and feels with work he has the talent to impress at Old Trafford.
Goncalves has signed a three-year deal with United, although he needs to secure a work permit before being free to pursue his new career in England.
"We have had Manucho here for a three-week trial and have been impressed enough to offer him a three-year contract," he told the club's official website.
"He is a tall, agile, quick forward and through contacts that Carlos [Queiroz] has was brought to our attention around six months ago."
Manucho, who has two goals in ten appearances for his country, scored 16 goals for Petro Athletico last season.
Meanwhile, Ferguson is not expecting to re-sign Henrik Larsson when the transfer window reopens in January as he did last time around.
"It would be an interesting one, but I don't think it's on," he concluded.
