Manchester United fullback Patrice Evra said he hoped to follow team-mates Wes Brown, Michael Carrick and Rio Ferdinand in agreeing a new contract.

"My agent and the club are speaking about the contract," the 26-year-old said. "I have one year left and I want to stay, but the ball is in the club's court."
