Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has ruled out ever joining Real Madrid.
The former Atletico captain declared: "It would be impossible for me to play for Real Madrid. Atletico is my club and I grew up there, which is why there are many reasons why I have closed the doors to Real Madrid."
It’s great to see some kind of commitment from a top-top player in today’s footballing climate.
Now I’m not a Liverpool fan, in fact quite the opposite but I have to admit that last Summer when Torres decided to join the Red’s, I was, as they say, gutted.
To also find out that this young player also remembers what Atletico did for him and no matter how tempting it may be - and so likely it is that Real will make an offer - that he does not neglect the duty he has to Atletico to stay well clear of their bitterest rivals.
