Italian Serie A club Juventus are reportedly lining up a big-money bid for Arsenal star Robin Van Persie - but not until next summer.

The Italian giants see the young forward as an ideal successor to 35-year-old Pavel Nedved.

Media reports are suggesting that the Turin outfit are unlikely to make a move until the end of the season, when the former Czech Republic star's contract with the Bianconeri runs out.

It is believed they will be willing to offer as much as £18 million for Van Persie.

However, it is unlikely that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will want to lose the 24-year-old.

Van Persie has been a big hit at the Emirates, having made 133 appearances and scoring 43 goals following his £3 million switch from Feyenoord in 2004.

A series of injuries restricted the Dutch international to just 23 appearances last season.
