After Hull painfully exposed Arsenal's fallibility at the back, the last thing Arsene Wenger's men will want to see is the Incredible Hulk trying to batter through them. But that is exactly what they will get when they meet Porto at the Emirates this evening.
Jesualdo Ferreira, the Portuguese champions' coach, will unleash his secret weapon, Brazilian striker Hulk, on the unwitting Gunners at some point in tonight's Champions League group match, in the hope that he can have a similar effect on Arsenal's defence as Phil Brown's men did at the weekend.
The 22-year-old Hulk, born Givanildo Vieira de Souza, bears an uncanny resemblance to actor Lou Ferrigno, who played the comic book hero in the film.
The forward joined Porto from Japanese side Tokyo Verdy – who play in green - where he earned the nickname and a big reputation, netting 37 times in 44 appearances for the J-League outfit.
A source close to Porto said: "Hulk is incredible, physically. He is so broad and he looks as if he can score every time he comes on.
"The only reason he isn't starting yet is that he's a new player and, like Wenger, Ferreira believes in integrating players bit by bit."
Wenger has conceded that his backline lack height, which has played a big role in the team's weakness from set-plays – the Gunners have conceded three goals from corners already this season.
"We have worked on balls in the air but if you put us against a basketball player it is difficult to win the ball," admitted the Frenchman.
