Cesc Fabregas has put speculation linking him with a move back to Barcelona to bed by insisting that he is more than happy in North London.

The Gunners midfielder was quoted as saying he would be tempted by a move to the Catalan giants if he endured a fourth consecutive trophyless season with Arsenal.

But the Spaniard has clarified his stance and has insisted his future is at the Emirates.

"I want to stay here because this is the best place for me to stay," Fabregas said. "I want to win trophies here and I hope we can do it this year.”

The 21-year-old is refusing to subscribe to claims that Arsenal's season has already run after early defeats to Hull and Fulham, insisting the four points by which the team trail leaders Liverpool and Chelsea is reversible, as long as the team eradicate the costly mistakes that are creeping into their game.

"It's only the beginning of the season," he added. "We started well last season and were first for a long time so now it doesn't matter.

"All we can do is focus on the next game and learn from our mistakes. We've made a lot of mistakes on set pieces and defending and if we really want to win something then our attitude has to change."
