Man Utd to launch bid for Sporting Lisbon’s Veloso

Manchester United remain interested in Sporting Lisbon midfielder Miguel Veloso.

The Independent says suggestions in Portugal that Sporting are already seeking a replacement for Veloso may mean that United are interested, despite the spat between Sir Alex Ferguson’s assistant Carlos Queiroz and the Sporting president last autumn over allegations of a tap-up.

Newcastle and Chelsea were linked with a £15 million move for Veloso over the weekend.
