Man Utd remain interested in Torres

Manchester United remain interested in Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres.
The Daily Mail says United boss Sir Alex Ferguson remains in the hunt for a potent goalscorer, with doubts lingering over Louis Saha.
Fernando Torres heads the list, despite the £20m price tag imposed by Atletico Madrid.
United chief David Gill said: “We’ve looked at it and if something comes along we’ll see what happens. If anything does happen it will be in the striker department.
“We’re not desperate but if any top player came along and Alex and the team felt they would strengthen the side then we would move for them.
“There will be changes because we have a large squad and there should be some people leaving.”

What do you mean “If” David Gill. “When” should be the word because we definately 100% do need to sign a new striker.
Rooney - young, talented, good player.
Saha - Very unreliable, getting to old
Solsjkaer - well over his peak, 34! Unfortunateley he’s got to go to make room for the best.
Smith - extremeley over-rated. He’s shite, how often does he score, assist or do something special with the ball - that’s right never. Scrap him.
That leaves the door open to Berbatov, Eto’o, Fernando Torres? No-matter what a new striker is essential, even more if Rossi’s out on loan next season.

I don’t know about Smith being shite, but I agree that we can’t stick all the pressure on rooney at 21 - he’s fekkin good, but let’s not take the piss. Maybe with Anderson’s signing it may open the way for more Brazilian flair??? Who wouldn’t want Stretford over Barcelona??? Seriously though, I’ve always wondered why we aint had more Brazilians??? Anyhoo, this young guy Klaas-Jan at Ajax looks the dogs you know whats without the RVN Dutch twatty streak - all reports seem to be very positive. Torres has a touch like I dance ballet - shite. If we are going to spend big then it would need to be Eto, Ronaldinho(Imagine him as a forward for us???) Berbatov. The latter would be great just to piss Spurs off with their ‘we beat you to Bale’ attitude. Either way though; if Sir Alex said he was playing with Bobby Charlton as a lone striker, would we question him??? Maybe even young Rossi might be ready for action - Ranieri wouldn’t take him to Juventus if he wasn’t. Let’s see who we sign - if anyone!

We need a striker and Torres is class, maybe you havn’y watched him much but everything about is game is great, even his touch. Calling Smith shite is harsh. He has been out for ages and so you can’t expect him to score as much as we need. On top of that he was playing from midfield before and was playing defensive so he is not going to score much then either. Before that, when he played at striker for us, he did score loads and played very well.

I would love to have Torres or Eto’o, but after spending so much on Nani, Anderson and Hargreaves I highly doubt we’ll get them. However, I would love to have Tevez at Old Trafford. He is somebody who works hard, never gives up and is a tremendous talent. If not, we should swoop for Anelka, even though he wont have a future there…but he’ll score Goals for us. Forget Bervatov and Saviola - They are shite!!! - I love Smith, but he is not a Starting striker

Oh for the love of god, this would be the flipping icing on the cake. Tevez is undoubtedly one of the most talented players in the world, with a boxers frame. Him and Rooney upfront would just be too scary, with Ronaldo and Nani on either wing, and Anderson behind the two strikers, backed up by Carrick and Hargreaves, Rio, Vidic. Oh dear…this would be simply SUBLIME!!!

i think smith shouldn’t be sold since he havent given his best form to the club and he is still young…however..i prefer saviola than tevez for the forward post since teves and rooney are the same type of player

i totally agree with super-hooper!
deffo need a new stricker!
out and out stricker such as eto, torres, berbatov!
since ruuds been gone we havnt had a poacher
if we still had ruud we’de of sealed the title well earlier last season.
im unsure about tevez though he has quality but i think he had potential 2 piss fergie off
if he comes full time i dont see him staying for more than two years!
we need someone who is reliable, scores goals and quality
