The Hatem Ben Arfa situation at Olympique Lyon is coming to a boiling point. Not only English Clubs are showing interest in the young attacking player but also clubs from Spain, Italy and France have been linked with him.

French paper l'Equipe claims that Ligue 1 giants Olympique Marseille are keen to sign the Lyon prodigy and are ready to meet the expectations set by the Lyon board.

“Marseille Chairman Pape Diouf spoke last week about it to me", explained Jean-Michel Aulas.

“I said to him that Lyon would not make the same mistake like Marseille did when clubs came calling for Ribery, but if they table a price higher than the other clubs then there would be no problem.”

Ben Arfa who has passed through the youth ranks at Lyon made his senior team debut in the 2004-2005 season. Since then he has impressed playing for Lyon playing a total of 40 times.

The Frenchman has also been capped by his national team 5 times already in his young career. Thus the interest from bigger clubs in Europe had to be sooner rather than later.

A switch to Marseille will be considered as a step in the wrong direction in his career by many but other teams such as Villareal and Arsenal have also shown keen interest in Arfa.

Lately it came under heavy speculation that Arfa had already signed for Arsene Wenger at Arsenal but all such rumours were put to bed when news confirmed that the French manager was actually looking into the possibility of signing Samir Nasri Instead.

Italian side AS Roma have also reportedly enquired about the player with the possibility of a swap with Brazilian winger Mancini.
