Hammers sign Neill

Blackburn defender Lucas Neill will sign for West Ham after snubbing a “dream” move to Liverpool, according to reports in Thursday’s papers.

The Australia international had been in talks about a Â£2million, Â£35,000-a-week move to Anfield, according to The Sun, but will now sign for relegation-threatened West Ham, who have reportedly offered him upwards of Â£50,000 a week.

Liverpool boss indicated on Wednesday he was losing patience with Neill, saying: “We are continuing to work on things, but we will not wait. If a player wants to come to Liverpool he must say so quickly.

“If he thinks about it for too long maybe it is a signal it is time for us to look at other players. We have alternatives.”

But the signing would be a major boost to Hammers boss Alan Curbishley, who has been trying to bring in reinforcements since taking over at Upton Park, and he could make it a double celebration by sealing a Â£3million deal for Tottenham centre-back Calum Davenport.

Good luck to the money grabbing greedy swine!

He had his chance for glory but could end up playing for a team in the Championship who probably won’t be able to pay his wages.

Who in their right mind would pass on the opportunity that has been presented to this idiot ???

Fair enough, he was only going to be a squad player, but given the opportunity he could have ended up a first-teamer, commanding higher wages going into the next season.

How long will it be before he realises he’s made a mistake ??? Not long I’d say !!!

Liverpool FC deserves players that want to play in the Red shirt. Not money grabbers who aren’t even going to give their all for a club on the brink of relegation.

what a greedy muppet, he had it easy at rovers, he was captain, guaranteed first team football and the fans likeD him, looks like hes going to take a big step backwards and join a championship side who have no chance of winning anything. if he was going to take the step up and join liverpool then i’d be disappointed to lose him, but to join west ham seems stupid and greedy.
