Euro 2008 odds have been a hot topic among gamblers, and football fans alike. Let's take a look at what we're up against.

There is a ton of different bets you can make on each game as most of you probably know, and even though I would love to delve into the odds of when the first goal might be scored, or who scores it, this article will be focusing on each countries odds of winning.

Germany remains the team with the best odds of winning the Euro 2008 tournament with most sportsbooks having them at 7/2 odds, and a couple at 4/1.

The German's are in Group B and are well favored to progress to the Quarter Finals. Croatia, Poland and Austria, who make up the group, just don't seem strong enough to challenge Joachim Low's side. The Germans have an excellent record at major tournaments and hold a good chance of winning the Euro 2008, however, this year's competition looks solid and several other teams will like their chances.

Spain has received a great amount of betting action on their side, and may even challenge Germany for favouritsm if the support continues. Many pundits have tipped Spain for Euro 2008 glory at odds of 11/2. On the flip side of that argument, Spain has only won the the Championships once before, and are known as being perenial under achievers in major competitions. This year might end up differently though as they are heading in to Euro 2008 with as good a squad as any other team in the tournament, and if they hit form they will be hard to stop.

Portugal has received much attention heading into the Euro 2008. With transfer rumors swirling around Cristiano Ronaldo, many camera's have been pointed in their direction, but Ronaldo has promised to keep silent on that situation until after the tournament. After being beaten in the finals in 2004, Felipe Scolari's side is sure to be hungry, and with Ronaldo on the team, they are capable of once again going all the way at odds of 15/2. Ronaldo can be backed to be the top Euro 2008 goalscorer at odds of 9/1. German striker Miroslav Klose and Fernando Torres of Spain are also 9/1 to win the golen boot.

Tabbed as the "Group of Death," many people will be looking towards Group C to provide the eventual winner. Current World Champions Italy, along with France, who they beat in the World Cup final two years ago are the two teams favoured to progress through to the last eight and are odds of 13/2 and 9/1 respectively to go on to win the final. Holland also feels they have a good chance of sending the other teams home early, and Marco van Basten's squad is packed with talent. At odds of 11/1 to win Euro 2008 they are sure to have plenty of supporters.

With several teams holding a good chance of winning Euro 2008, this is surely to be a thrilling tournament. We have setup a $20 free bet for TheSoccerBlog readers, and we're wishing you the best of luck!
