Croatian teenager snubs Liverpool

Liverpool have failed in their pursuit of Croatia Under-21 star Domagoj Vida.

The Osijek midfielder, 18, snubbed the chance to make the switch to Anfield — claiming he would rather play first-team football in Croatia.

His agent Ivan Cvejetkovic revealed that £400,000-rated Vida has no intention of leaving his homeland yet.

He said: “I was proud of Domagoj Vida. He appreciates the offer but thinks it would be better if he proves his quality in Croatia instead of being on the Liverpool bench.”
