Clemence Urges Hammers Keeper To Forget Mistakes

England goalkeeping coach Ray Clemence has told West Ham stopper Robert Green to bounce back from his error-strewn performance against Bolton on Saturday.
Green was at fault for the Trotters opener, dropping a routine catch for Kevin Davies to score, and failed to cling on to a low shot which allowed Gary Cahill to bundle the ball home soon after.
His miserable afternoon was compounded when he was beaten by a 30-yard Matt Taylor free kick near to full time.
It was arguably Green’s worst performance in an otherwise consistent spell for the Hammers, but Clemence urged the 28-year-old to forget about it and move on.
“Robert Green has been playing well all season. Unfortunately he made a couple of errors but that happens to goalkeepers,” Clemence said of David James’ understudy for England.
“You have got to have broad shoulders. You have got to remember you are a quality goalkeeper and carry on.”
